Dear Peter,

the tools folder is in %WUFIINSTALL%\Tools
This is typically C:\Program Files\IBP-Software\Tools

wac files one year limit

Post by Peter Brander »

Thank you. I found it in another mail reply later on.

Now i have created a couple of WAC files and then some other questions came up.

How can i get the correct year presented in the wac data or is this alwyas a synthetic year? This is also relevant when my measured data have different starting time for month, day, and hour as well.

In the excel tool i can put in more than 8760 rows of data and the tool will create the wac file including this data. When importing into WUFI I get a warning message that i have more than one year of data but the computing works fine. How does WUFI handle the excess data.

And finally
I have eight years of pretty complete data. What fileformats will work for the whole period in WUFI and what format do you recommend

Dear Peter,

note your correct year in the Description, it is anyway not of further interest.
First line in the Excel sheet must be 1.Jan 1:00 and you have to have at least 8760 lines hourly.

WUFI does always read to the end of a climate file and then jump to the first line.

calculation period in the wac file

Post by Peter Brander »

Now I produced a 4 year file 19900101-19941231 (ran out of excelrows to be able to include eight years) .

When I am choosing my calculation period 20090401-20120331 (as I had in calculation previous ) there is no indication in WUFI that this should be a problem. I was expecting year 1-4 based on the wac file. Based on that o got confused about how to sort out different calculation periods within the data period. Is Wufi starting up the calculation properly in april or is the first line of data chosen?

Just once more; First line of the Excel Sheet must be 1.Jan 1:00

If you run out of Excel Lines use 7 years first and copy the year no.8 into the WAC file by using a text editor.

You can not select a calculation period, you can just select the start date.

calculation period

Post by Peter Brander »

Big thank you for rapid resons

Just to be clear.
As I understand from the discussion WUFI always start calculation in year one on the correct date with wac files(looking ok in my resultfile).
This mean I have have several wacfiles för the period if i want to start calculation in year 2-8

Is this file not included with the ORNL North American version? There is no such file in my IBP-Software/Tools folder.

It is not included in the ORNL version, because the free and restricted ORNL version is not able to read the files created by CreateClimateFile.xls
