How to disable radiation and rain from climate?

Post by Thomas_GP »

I would like to simulate a partition in WUFI-2D in the climate from the database. The partition is roofed and shielded by another partition, so I would like to exclude the effects of rain and radiation from the simulation. Will it be enough that I select in the climate settings: "without absorption/emission", "without reflexion", "without explicit radiation balance" and "without rain absorption" as in the attached photo?

kind regards
Thomas

Hi Thomas,

yes, right, the radiation can be switched off by deactivating short wave adsorption and long wave emission - explicit radiation balance should be switched off. The rain can be switched off by setting the adhering fraction of rain to zero. So with the settings shown in your screenshot, radiation and rain is switched off.

By the way: the worst case setting for shading would be to switch off the short wave radiation and leave the long wave emission as is.

Please note, there are also models to take in account the shading. See here:
