A-Value representing water repellent treatment of the facade.

Post by l.clapham »

Hello,

I've been modelling the application of brick cream using the guidance in "https://wufi.de/download/guideline/Guid ... 260701.pdf". This proposes using an A-value of 0.1 kg/m²√h for the outer construction layer.

However, I have recently noticed that in "https://wufi.de/download/guideline/WUFI ... 251202.pdf" it is recommended to use an A-value of 0.5 kg/m²√h.

Which is the most appropriate value to use? Thanks in advance.

Dear l.clapham,

for an impregnation of a brick wall, an A value of 0,1 kg/m²√h is recommended for example according to WTA-Guideline 3.17. So this is OK.

In the mentioned WUFI example, just an example of 0,5 kg/m²√h was used, because this is another requirement according to the German standard DIN 4108-3. However, such high values are unlikely in case of a good impregnation.

best regards
