Hello everyone,
we are currently carrying out a analysis to assess the using the hygrothermal behavior of a timber element which is supposed to be "American Red Oak".
For the analysis, we use the "Oak, radial" dataset from the material database (see screenshots attached).
We would like to understand which oak species this material dataset is based on.
Is someone able to provide any context?
We are specifically interested in hints if this material can be used to represent white oak / red oak, as this is the material we need to assess.
Since the available timber materials result in a great variation of results, has anyone used "Oak, radial" and could provide info if this might be a suitable proxy material or whether "hardwood" or any other material is more reliable and comparable?
Thank you!
Philipp
