Transfer User Defined Materials to new computer

Post by AUChE1997 »

I just changed my computer and installed WUFI Pro 4.2. How do I get my list of customized User defined materials onto my new computer? I really don't want to recreate them and what if I miss something and it's different than before?

Dear AUChe1997,

Close WUFI,

copy the file C:\Program Files\IBP-Software\Database\IBP_24.mdb from the old to the new machine and it should work.

I have the same problem.
I tried to copy and paste the IBP_24.mdb file from my old computer to my new computer. However Wufi had been updated on my new computer (version 5.2) whereas he is still in the older version on my old computer.
When I copy and paste the database file I cannot start Wufi and it says that my database is in a wrong version.
I think I can't use the file DBMaterialPumpFix.exe as described in this topic as the older version has never been installed : http://www.wufi-forum.com/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=756
What should I do ? Should I install first the older version then reinstall the new one ?
Thank you very much,

Hi Wirbel,

call the DBMaterialPump.exe in the WUFI Tools folder. Select source and destination. Uncheck "Delete userdefined materials" and then press Pump...
The Source folder has to contain .mda and .mdb.
