Hello,
I have to assess the risk of mold growth within an interior cavity. The wall assembly is:
1. painted render
2. 580 mm historic brick masonry (modelled as 20mm + 560mm)
3. 80mm cavity (modelled as 1mm "80mm air layer" + 78mm "80mm air layer without additional moisture capacity" + 1 mm "80mm ...

Hello,
I am simulating the drying capacity of a wall subject to abundant water ingress in the past. The question being asked is how long the wall will take to dry.
The wall is rendered with a portland cement mix and coated with several layers of different types of paint (acrylic and oil based ...

Surface Conditions - coating
Hello,
under surface conditions, sd-value, there are two options which include "(without driving rain)". What does this note mean?
The wall in my analysis is coated with several layers of paint (acrylic and oil based), so i am assuming a low permeability to vapour of sd-value=1.
Thank you.

brick masonry water content graph
Hello,
i am modelling a brick masonry with unvetilated cavity and insulated timber frame. The graph of the water content of the brick masonry shows unusual spikes (from 30 to 90 kg/m3) in a very short time and at regular intervals which would be very little justifiable by the climate only. I am ...
