Installation of WUFI 5.2 Light

Post by Maria Spinu » Sat May 18, 2013 11:26 am -1100

After installing WUFI 5.2 Light I received the following error:
'Access violation at address 006CA6EB in "WUFI.exe". Read of address 00000008.'
I tried to reinstall a few times with no luck. I checked the WUFI forum at http://www.wufi-forum.com/viewtopic.php?t=244
but the explanation is too complex and could not figure out what to do. The software seems to install OK, but the database does not (shows a red mark). Is there a simple way to fix this? This is a Dell computer that runs on Windows 7. The computer is pretty new. I was training a class of about 18 people on WUFI Light/ORNL, and it was only one computer that had this problem, all others worked fine.

Thank you,
Maria

The specified address might belong to the help system.
Could you rename the help files (all files ending in chm inside the installation directory c:\program files(x86)\wufi\wufi5\) to *.chm.bak and start WUFI again?

Does a double-click to one of the help files open the help viewer?
