Weather data from measuread data

Post by Martin b » Wed Jan 31, 2018 4:27 am -1100

Hello,

I would like to imput weather data from measured value in wufi+. First i used the file called CreatclimateFile.xlsm and i organized all the data like you can see below :

WUFIョ_WAC_02
10 Line Offset to 'Number of Data Columns'
Epinal
climat ext.; CCF 2.4
6.45 Longitude [ー]; East is positive
48 Latitude [ー]; North is positive
360 HeightAMSL [m]
1 Time Zone [h from UTC]; East is positive
1 Time Step [min]
11521 Number of DataLines
10 Number of DataColumns

Year Day Month h min TA HREL PSTA RN WS WD ISGH ISDH ILAH
2017 7 12 0 0 20.06 0.61 973.31 0.000 0.447222222 124 0 0 354.79

2017 7 12 0 13 19.89 0.62 973.38 0.000 0 131 0 0 361.08
2017 7 12 0 14 19.89 0.62 973.38 0.000 0 131 0 0 361.53

For a better understanding, i added the signification of the column which correspond to Time.
I paid attention to convert the values in the correct unit but my problem is the time step. I want a time step at 1 min instead 1 hour to get more accurate results. I read on the wufi-forum that that is possible to change the time step by using a .KLI file but that is not possible to put all the data (TA, HREL, PSTA, RN, WS, WD, ISGH, ISDH, ILAH).

First question:
Is it possible to create a weather climate with the same data than a .wac File but with a time step of 1 min?

Second question:
If it possible, how i can add the file in wufi+ and what are the parameters that i have to paid attention? I have the feeling that only a one year data is accepted by using the "userdefined file" and in my case i want to simulate between July 7 at 00:00 and July 29 00:00 with a time step of 1 min.

Thanks in advance.

Benoît

Hello Martin,

The WAC format is defined to be with hourly time steps only. If you need other time steps the KLI format is the only option. Problem is, you need to calculate radiation and and rain data on to the surface out of the RN, WS, WD, ISGH, ISDH, ILAH before hand.

Kind Regards,

Thank you Manfred.

Yes i know that for .wav File that is why i sent this message.
So, there is no way for now to add a weather climate file from a sun tracker and meteorological station?? Maybe for the next version, did you plan to add this option?

I am not responsible for the WUFI development anymore., so I am not sure what IBP's planning on this is.

Dear Martin,

there are no plans at the moment to allow smaller time steps in the wac-file as the demand for this is to low.

Are the small time steps necessary in your case? We usually measure all our weather data in 1-5 minute steps. For the calculation we build the hourly mean values, as this is sufficient in the most cases.

Best regards,
Christian

Dear Christian,

Thank you for your answer. Solar radiation has a big range of variation during one hour so 1 minute steps data are essentials to compare simulation results with experiemntal results.

Best regards,
Benoît
