OpenGL ES Error - Can't find name of Intel ICD OpenGL driver

Post by Fenoglio Elisa » Tue Apr 04, 2017 7:03 am -1100

Hi everybody,

I have some problem with the program launch. I installed the latest version of wufi (6.1); when I try to launch the software an error message appears and the software crashes. It says: can't find the name of intel ICD openGL driver. I attach the screenshot.
I try to upgrade the drivers of the internal graphic card, but it does not work; also with the dedicated video card the same error appears.

Thank for any help.

Hello Elisa,
I have the same problem. It tracks down to some wrong windows updates regarding graphic card drivers. You need to find the correct drivers which may not be that easy. I have a dell laptop and the Intel driver won't work. Will try the dell update in a few days and then see.

Fraunhofer IBP may have more details for your help.

I try to found the driver video on the Intel webpage, but it does not work. A downgrade of the driver can not solve the problem?

I send an email at support; I'm waiting for a reply.
Thanks for your response.

According to the *great* support from Fraunhofer IBP, a downgrade should help. It just did not in my case.

Dear Elisa,

Should you have an integrated Intel graphics card (HD Graphics 510, 515, 520, 530, Iris Graphics 540, 550 or the Iris Pro Graphics 580) and received a Windows driver upgrade please try the following:
Download this older but working driver:
https://downloadcenter.intel.com/downlo ... duct=88345
and install the win64_154014.4352.exe. Afterwards restart your PC and try to run WUFI again.

If this is not working, please search the homepage of your computers manufacturer to find the appropriate driver.

Best regards,
Christian

The Problem "Can't find the name of the Intel ICD OpenGL driver" has been solved in my case as stated below and may also be helpful to users who had a working OpenGL functionality with WUFI earlier and a recent driver update caused the issue.

1) Don’t download any driver, but follow the intel guide as stated here: http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/ ... 05629.html

2) Instead of selecting the location, select “Let me pick…..”

3) Select an earlier installed version. In my case downgrade to the 9/29/16 version solved the problem

This has happened to me also, but my I.T. folks checked the Intel driver and it hasn't been updated since July and the program worked between then and now, so I'm wondering if something else is going on?? Also, if we switch it back, won't it just update again at the next required update and make the same issue occur? This seems like a quick fix not a long term solution?
Respectfully,

Michael Hurd

It switched back once on my private laptop within the last few months. I had the same problem with my business laptop, (Lenovo Intel HD Graphics 530) and solved it yesterday in the same way stated above.

Manfred, I'm not a computer guy, but isn't this just going to get messed up the next time intel or whomever pushes through another update?
Respectfully,

I don't think it will mess up. You should be fine. The fact that Microsoft offers this feature of downgrading in a fashionable way makes me feel confident they can handle it

Edit: WUFI 6.3.1 fixed this issue. Please download and install the latest version. You'll find the download link in our online-shop or in your license mail

The previous post was:
The latest Intel Graphics Driver [15.46 and above] fixes this issue.
To install it follow this step by step guide below. If any problem arises or you need help, let me know.
  1. Do not use this to install the latest DCH drivers, as it may result in minor to major system instability!
  2. To install this driver from Intel over your current OEM driver select the latest driver version from the link above which is greater than or equals to version 15.46. Usually you just want to select the first listed entry.
  3. Get the ZIP file from the latest driver version.
  4. Extract the archive to a folder you can find easily.
  5. Open the Device Manager (Press and hold (or right-click) the Start button, then select Device Manager from the context menu.)
  6. In the device manager open the display adapters category and right-click on your Intel(R) Graphics card. Select Update Driver Software...
  7. On this screen, select Browse my computer for driver software.
  8. On the next screen, select Let me pick from a list of device drivers...
  9. On that screen, select Have Disk...
  10. Browse to the folder where you extracted the Intel driver and open the Graphics folder. Select the igdlh64.inf
  11. Windows should pickup the signed compatible driver, if you check Show Compatible Hardware. Select it and hit Next.
  12. Windows will install the driver and ask you to restart your computer.

Alternatively, the following may also work. It did in my case:

1) Open the Device Manager (Press and hold (or right-click) the Start button, then select Device Manager from the context menu.)
2) In the device manager open the display adapters category and right-click on your Intel(R) Graphics card. Select Update Driver Software...
3) Select "Search automatically for updated driver software"
