Blowerproof liquid membrane

Post by David Lam » Wed Dec 11, 2019 2:46 am -1100

Hi all

Does anybody have any experience with using Blowerproof or a similar sprayed/painted membrane for air tightness?
Can you offer any advice for modelling in WUFI pro?

Thank you

Dear David,

for this layer you can either set up an layer:
- do that based on some membrane with constant sd-value, you only have to adapt the µ-value of your material.
or if this is the outermost layer, you can set it as an sd-value in the boundary condition (in this case no layer is needed).

Hi David

One factor that has crossed my mind with this and similar products (purple passive, Aerosana etc) is that the final vapour resistance will depend on the thickness. I'm not sure how accurately that is controlled, given the manual spray method. would be interesting to get some samples and do some testing. I'll email you separately about that, might be able to help each other out.
