Perm Rating Lead Based Paint

Post by rrenaud » Wed Jan 23, 2019 8:39 am -1100

On one of our projects the client (governmental) has decided they don't want to remove existing plaster on the exterior wall and insulate over the top and apply a new interior finish. Does anyone have any idea what the permeability of lead based paint is?

The following link provides some good data for paint"s perm values, unfortunately no lead based paint is in there.

I would contact manufacturers.

Unfortunately it has been illegal in the USA to install lead based paint since 1978. The client doesn't want to remove it because it requires environmental cleanup (abatement.)
