Promatect boards

Post by Mari Sand Austigard » Wed Nov 22, 2017 11:35 pm -1100

I am working on a project where steel studs will be inserted into a brick wall in a historic building. The studs need fire protection, and I am trying to simulate the effects on the wall in terms of condensation risk and build-up of moisture in the wooden parts of the wall. The engineers have suggested a material called Promatect H, but the manufacturer can't give me any material data besides thermal conduction. Do you have a suggestion for a material I can use for an approximation?

Here is the product:

Best regards, Mari.

Dear Mari,

that looks like a calcium silicate board for me.
Similar materialis in the database may be
Masea source -> calcium silicate
Fraunhofer Source -> Siniat bluclad

Best regards,
Christian
