EIFS wall systems

Post by Michael Hurd »

We do several projects using EIFS as our exerior wall material - does anyone have any reliable material properties as required by WUFI that can be plugged into the material database? I have looked at some of the Canadian research from NRC-CNRC on materials but couldn't seem to locate all the data needed within their research.
Respectfully,

Dear Mr. Hurd,
you should be able to build up your EIFS from materials in WUFI's database. The insulation slab is usually expanded polystyrene or mineral wool (aka fibre glass), on top of which is some lime cement stucco, or lime cement stucco plus resin finishing (aka acrylic stucco). Such materials can be found both in the "Generic North America Database" source and the "Fraunhofer-IBP" source section of the material database.

Furthermore, you should have the example file "Example_InitialCondition.w4p" in the Projects folder of your WUFI installation which shows a simple mineral wool EIFS on lime silica brick masonry.

Regards,
Thomas
