Properties for conglomerate rock

Post by JPLeavitt » Sun Mar 19, 2023 9:04 am -1100

I am trying to model a wall made from Roxbury Puddingstone which is a conglomerate of gravel (quartzes and feldspars) in a matrix of argillite, which is basically a silty slate that is not fully metamorphosed.

Wikipedia article here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roxbury_Conglomerate

Does anyone have suggestions for modeling this material? It is fairly dense and the quartz and feldspar pebbles are also quite dense and impermeable, so slate might make an OK model. But I don't see any tabulated properties for slate either. Is there a dense sandstone that might have similar properties? Currently I am using Zeitzer Sandstone as a substitute.
