WUFI Passive - stud wall assembly example needed

Post by Robert Albano » Tue Sep 30, 2014 9:10 am -1100

I want to model a stud wall in WUFI Passive. Plywood sheathing, 2x4 studs 16" on center, 2" of fiberglass batts next to the inside surface, 1/2" gypsum board. Not sure how to incorporate the 2x4 studs 16" on center into the assembly.

On the passive verification scope: you can select a layer, add a exchange material and define the subdivision for this this layer (vertical and horizonal).

This movie may help: http://www.wufi-wiki.com/wufifilme/flas ... ponent.swf

If the fiberglass don't fill the whole cavity, you can divide the thickness of the "stud-layer" in two layers, one with the material air (with the correct thickness of the layer) and the next with fiberglass. Both with the horizontal subdivision (stud and cavity), where you exchange the air and the fiberglass witht the stud material.
