I am trying to study a suspended floor, with an exterior surface on the underside. As I understand it, the orientation tab in the Exterior surface parameters only allows me to choose an inclination going from 90 (vertical wall) to 0 (flat roof), but does not account for downward facing surfaces. Am I misunderstanding something ?
Thank you

Hi Ecozimut,
the inclinations are indeed limited to values between 0° and 90°. To simulate a downward-facing surface,

the inclinations are indeed limited to values between 0° and 90°. To simulate a downward-facing surface,
- set the inclination to zero
- set the short-wave radiation absorptivity to zero in order to "switch off" any solar radiation
- set the "Adhering fraction of rain" to zero in order to "switch off" any rain
- switch off the option "Explicit radiation balance" in order to avoid night-time radiative cooling by radiation exchange with the sky
- optionally use a smaller value for the heat transfer coefficient if you wish to take a somewhat "sheltered" situation into account
