Group Building Visualized Components

Post by RogerTaylor » Sat Jan 09, 2016 10:42 am -1100

I imported a sketchup building into WUFI+ ver 3 and want to group (combine) components, but can't figure out how. Please help. Apparently, I need "click by click" instructions. Thank you very much for your help !

Grouping (combining) of Components is only possible if the boundaray conditions of both components are the same (connected zone on the inner and outer side of the component, Rsi, Rse, ...) and they must have the same Inclination.

You can combine them in the 3D-visualization in the left bottom corner in WUFI Plus. if you left-click there on a component, the component is marked in red color. Other components, which maybe allready grouped are marked orange.

To ungroup you can make a right-click and choose "Ungroup" in the menu.

To group components you first have to hold down the "Ctrl"-Key and left-click the components you want to group. If you have marked all the component, you can make a right-click on one of them and choose: "Group". Than they are grouped.

If the "Group" menu-entry is not shown in the list, past the right-click. you may try group components, with are not groupable (see first line).

When grouping components, the original components are still left under "Visualized Components", is there a way to remove the individual components if they are contained in one of the groups? For a large building it will be quite cumbersome to have to apply assemblies individually, and thus would defeat the purpose of grouping them.

Whenever you group components, only one entry in the project tree should be there, for the whole group. In the 3D visualization the grouped components are highlighted with organge borders (or red border if you click on a special one).
