Air exchange source from room conditions

Post by eboek » Tue Jul 10, 2007 1:25 am -1100

Hello WUFI-Team,
today I tried to analyze a roof construction with insufficient airtightness to the room side with the new WUFI feature for air exchange sources.
Do I understand the description for this feature in the right way that it is not fitted for solving such problems because in WUFI it is assumed that the air exchange results of the outside climatic conditions?

Thank you very much for your efforts.

Ernst

Yes, you are right.
We intend to add this feature for the interior air change in the next Release.

Dear Manfred,

Is this feature the same as the air change feature included in the WUFI 4.2 version.

I have tried using the feature however the results look like the air change is still coming from exterior conditions and weather data rather than using interior conditions.

It would be beneficial to see the results of indoor air exhange into the assembly.

Thanks for your help.

Best,

Yalin

Air exchange with interior air is not available in WUFI 1D 4.2

Dear IBP,

Do you have recommended settings for an air change source linked to internal environment to reflect minor imperfections in an airtightness membrane or VCL on the warm side of solid wall internal wall insulations? I am aware of your study into the impact of air leakage into wall build ups and would like to know how this can be reasonably reflected in the modelling.

Thank you,

Matt

Hello Matt,
in the moisture sources you can find the air infiltration model IBP. This is exactly what you are searching for.

Literature would be:
Künzel, H. M., Zirkelbach, D., & Schafaczek, B. (2011). Vapour control design of wooden structures including moisture sources due to air exfiltration. In Proceedings 9th Nordic symposium NSB Tampere (pp. 189-196).
